Variety - The Spice of Life

Theoretically this stamp applies to everyone from everywhere; if you use the same set of names for characters of several nationalities, this stamp is directed at you, especially those of you who slap a Japanese name on every goddamn character you make, even the vikings, m'kay? The fact of the matter is, names vary widely between countries. Heck, I'm willing to bet that they can vary between different regions of the same country (most especially the U.S.). So if you have a mixed nationality cast (be it a group of human from different places on earth, or a motley group of adventurers from different magical races), you absolutely should be picking names with different flavors for them.

Look, there are so many strange and wonderful names out there, most of which look completely alien (and unpronounceable) to my Western-American eyes, and they're too goddamn precious to forgo in favor of naming every goddamn Who in Whoville 'Cindy.'
